Translation and teaching services
I have been working as a full-time self-employed translator from Catalan and Spanish into English since 2000.
I specialise in the following subjects, among others:
Education, psychology, sociology.
The Environment (water management, recycling, selective waste collection, etc.)
Tourism (menus, websites, brochures, tourist itineraries and routes, etc.)
Music and art (catalogues, programmes, biographies, audioguide scripts, etc.)
For a copy of my CV or information about my rates, deadlines, etc., please send an e-mail to traduccionsvero[at]yahoo.es
Before translating, I spent 20 years teaching. 6 years as a primary school teacher in the UK and 14 teaching English as a foreign language in Catalonia, Spain, where I have lived since 1983. I now teach English part time.
I have been an oral examiner for Cambridge University’s ESOL exams since 1993: Young Learners (Starters, Movers and Flyers), KET, PET, First Certificate, Advanced and Proficiency. I have been the Team Leader for the Figueres examination area, ES 398 since 2005.
Since 2010, I have been a “consultor” (online teacher) for Idioma Modern I English at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC).
